This study aims to investigate the embryo transfer and breeding status produced using the Ovum Pick-up (OPU) method in Korean cow. The survey involved personally visiting 47 farms across four provinces and six regions. The management type of OPU-derived embryo transfer farms was 78.7% for fatting management and 21.3% for breeding cows. The average number of animals on these farms totaled 139.9±93.9, with 88.2±62.7 being breeding cows, 25.1±27.9 being fattening cows, and 28.0±25.1 being calves and growing cows. The average pregnancy rate among OPU-embryo transfer cows was 56.8% (399/702), and the gestation period for these cows was 285.0±2.8 days for females and 281.5±0.7 days for males. The birth weights of delivered calves from OPU-derived pregnant cows were females 33.0±1.4 kg and, males 38.0±4.2 kg respectively. The rate of dystocia during calving was approximately 3.8% (15/399). In conclusion, the results of this study can be used as foundational data for breeding superior Hanwoo cows.
